BRIM Live Delta Ops Email Reader
A small, owner-operated tool being configured to retrieve California Department of Water Resources Delta Operations Summary bulletins from a dedicated Gmail mailbox.
What it does
It reads eligible DWR report emails, extracts the dated Executive Operations Summary values, and validates them before any candidate is considered for BRIM Live public data products. The existing DWR PDF route is retained as a fallback.
The tool is intended for the dedicated BRIM Live mailbox, not for general-purpose email management or consumer sign-in.
Google account permissions
It requests the Gmail API scope gmail.readonly. This scope allows the tool to view messages and mailbox settings, including messages unrelated to the report. The software is designed to select only eligible DWR bulletins. It does not request permission to send, modify, archive, mark as read, or delete messages.
Privacy and public outputs
Raw mailbox messages, email headers, account credentials, and OAuth tokens are not public data products. Validated, non-personal operational measurements reported by DWR may later be published as BRIM Live data when separately authorized.
See the Privacy Policy for more information.
Use and limitations
This is an independent technical utility, not an official DWR report or a service offered to external users. Information is provided for informational purposes and should be checked against official DWR sources when decisions depend on accuracy or timeliness.
